Netanyahu: Oslo Accords are a fateful mistake

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Dec. 17 (YPA) -Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Oslo Agreement was a grave mistake that should not be repeated and explained that his government is communicating with Egypt and Qatar regarding negotiations for the release of Zionist prisoners.

This came during a press conference, held on Saturday evening.

“We are in a war that targets our existence and we must continue it until the end,” he said, adding that military pressure was necessary in order to return prisoners and win the war.

Netanyahu described the Oslo Accords as “a fateful mistake” and said the results of the “little Palestinian state in Gaza” brought about by the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 demonstrated the danger of allowing Palestinian sovereignty in the West Bank.

He pointed out that he told US President Joe Biden that the Palestinians cannot be granted full sovereignty that threatens the lives of “Israelis.”

Netanyahu stressed that his government is determined to continue fighting until Hamas is eliminated and the detainees are returned, claiming that the Gaza Strip will be demilitarized and under Israeli control after the elimination of Hamas.

He pointed out that his government would not support its position with more blood and fire, claiming to eliminate many of the resistance fighters and their leaders in Gaza and weaken their fighting capabilities.
