Sanaa’s Minister of Defense makes significant pronouncements about future of navigation in Red Sea

SANAA, Dec. 06 (YPA) – Major General Mohammed Al-Atifi, the Minister of Defense of the Sanaa government, assured all countries in the world that the Red Sea is safe for navigation, international trade, and ship passage, except for those belonging to the Zionist entity or its associated entities.

This came in a speech he delivered Wednesday during his visit to members of the Navy, Coastal Defense, and the Fifth Military District on the western coast.

Major General Al-Atifi confirmed the commitment of the Republic of Yemen to safeguarding international navigation in the Red Sea, noting Yemen’s right to safeguard maritime navigation within its territorial waters.

The Minister of Defense declared the Red Sea, from the Gulf of Aqaba to Bab al-Mandab, has become forbidden for the Zionist entity, and any Zionist ship in the Red Sea would be seized or attacked.

He affirmed the readiness of Yemeni naval and missile forces to launch severe strikes on Zionist fixed or moving targets in support of the people in Gaza.

“The armed forces will continue to launch missile and drone strikes on Zionist targets until the aggression against Gaza ceases,” Major General Al-Atifi said.
