Qatar’s UN Ambassador affirms her Country’s quest for sustainable ceasefire in Gaza

WORLD, Nov. 28 (YPA) – Qatar’s ambassador to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani called for pumping more humanitarian aid to all areas of Gaza, expressing her country’s hope for a sustainable ceasefire in the Strip.

The Qatari delegate said – after a special session of the UN Security Council devoted to discussing the temporary humanitarian truce – that there is a need to stop the bloodshed in Gaza.

“The situation on the ground is appalling, and what Qatar wants to see is step-by-step to reach the ultimate goal, which is a sustainable ceasefire.

“We want more humanitarian truces, greater alleviation of the suffering of the Palestinian people, and the protection of civilians, that is our goal.”

It is noteworthy that Qatar – which played a pivotal role in reaching a temporary ceasefire between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – announced on Monday the extension of the humanitarian truce in Gaza for two more days, and the movement confirmed that the extension will be on the terms of the previous truce itself.
