North Korean leader reviews first images taken by reconnaissance satellite

WORLD, Nov. 28 (YPA) – A reconnaissance satellite launched by Pyongyang last week captured images of the White House, Pentagon, and military bases in the United States, North’s official Korean Central News Agency reported.

The agency pointed out that the country’s leader Kim Jong Un seen the images, including images of the US airbase “Anderson” on the island of Guam in the Pacific Ocean, and the bases “Norfolk” and “Newport”, where a total of 4 US aircraft carriers and another British were spotted.

Last week, North Korea announced a successful launch of its military reconnaissance satellite.

North Korea has said the satellite has begun taking pictures of sites in South Korea and the United States, while officials in Seoul say they cannot yet confirm the satellite’s effectiveness and capabilities.

The United States and South Korea condemned North Korea’s satellite launch, noting that UN Security Council resolutions prevent Pyongyang from using ballistic technologies.
