HADRAMOUT, Nov. 23 (YPA) – Tribes and sheikhs of Wadi Hadramout announced on Wednesday the general mobilization in readiness to confront any escalation by the UAE-funded factions in the province.
The tribes, in a meeting with various sheikhs and notables of the tribe, warned against targeting the head of the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, Sheikh Amr bin Ali Habrish, who is the first deputy governor of the province loyal to Saudi Arabia, after he was summoned by the prosecution loyal to the UAE on charges of disturbing public security and social peace last week.
The meeting affirmed that the policy of repression, confiscating the rights of Hadramout people, and preventing them from holding the youth meeting at the beginning of this November in Mukalla aimed at restricting freedom of expression, calling on the factions of the “Hadrami elite” loyal to the UAE to release the kidnapped journalist Badr Al-Mashjari without any restrictions or conditions.
It also called on the coalition to empower the people of Hadramout to manage their security and military affairs in the province, rejecting the recruitment process under any justification.
The statement called for the Saudi-formed Presidential Leadership Council, led by Rashad al-Alimi, to hold its responsibility in alleviating the suffering of citizens and the burden of the harsh economic conditions.
