WORLD, Nov. 22 (YPA) – Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia: 4,000 Ukrainians fled Israel to their safer homeland
, accused Western countries of applying double standards in dealing with the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and in Ukraine.
“Four thousand refugees from “Israel” with Ukrainian passports decided to return to Ukraine, because the situation is safe there, as they put it. Colleagues, think about this: they prefer to return to their homeland from “Israel”, which, as you well know, is tens, if not hundreds of times safer, than the Gaza Strip, which is being completely destroyed before our eyes,” Vassily Nebenzia said during a session of the UN Security Council on Tuesday.
He noted that Western representatives prefer to ignore this situation because of their “double standards”.
Nebenzia added said: “I repeat once again my question I asked in the previous meeting about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine: How many meetings have you held on the humanitarian situation in Gaza during all this time? I will answer you: not one.”
