Mohammed Abdulslam comments on downing of US MQ9 drone

SANAA, Nov. 09 (YPA) – Ansarullah spokesman, Mohammed Abdulsalam, commented on Wednesday on the downing of the US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone by the Yemeni air defenses while flying over the airspace of Yemen’s territorial waters.

In a post on his X account, Mohammed Abdulsalam said “the downing of the US-made MQ-9 Reaper drone confirms Yemeni Armed Forces’ readiness to counter all hostile operations violating national sovereignty”.

He added, “The shooting down the US drone underscores the commitment of the Yemeni Armed Forces to their supportive operations for Gaza until the Israeli aggression ceases.”

Earlier in the day, a spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e, said in a news statement that the air defenses downed the aircraft, while it was carrying out hostile and surveillance activities in the airspace of Yemeni territorial waters, within the framework of American military support for the Israeli entity.
