UAE-backed factions suppress rally in Mukalla

HADRAMOUT, Nov. 09 (YPA) – The UAE-funded factions suppressed on Wednesday a protest rally in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadramout province.

Local sources in the city reported that dozens of armed members of the “Hadrami Elite” factions prevented the protesters who demanded to hold a consultative meeting for the youth of the “Hadramout Tribal Alliance” affiliated with Saudi Arabia.

These factions kidnapped several media activists after the youth consultative meeting prevented to organize, which was scheduled to be held in Al-Andalus Hall in the city.

The sources accused the UAE of moving towards copying the “tribal alliance affiliated with Saudi Arabia, the Hadramout Tribal Alliance,” for the benefit of leaders in the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council.”

For its part, the “Hadramout Tribes Alliance” condemned in a statement that the UAE factions prevented the organization of the consultative meeting, and that the protest that the UAE faction repressed and the kidnaped several activists.
