SANAA, July 8 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Sunday discussed with Johannes Bruwer, deputy head of delegation for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Sanaa, the latest developments in the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
In the meeting, the foreign minister said the recent escalation of Saudi-led coalition in the western coast would lead to catastrophic consequences not only on the province of Hodeidah, but also on all provinces as Hodeidah port represents a lifeline for Yemenis.
Sharaf urged the organizations, especially the ICRC, to call for the cessation of war crimes being committed against Yemen by the coalition countries.
He called on the humanitarian organizations working in Yemen for further efforts, confirming that they would receive all necessary facilitates for the success of their work.
In the meeting, the ICRC official confirmed that the delegation would resume its activity in the coming days after addressing difficulties that face its work.
Bruwer reiterated the ICRC’s continued support for Yemen in order to contribute to alleviating the unprecedented humanitarian situation in the country.
