New crude oil leakage threatens lives of residents in Shabwa

SHABWA, Oct. 29 (YPA) – The district of Al-Rawdha in Shabwa province witnessed on Sunday a new crude oil leakage, said local sources in the province, which is under the control of Saudi-led coalition’s factions.

Eyewitnesses from the al-Rawdha district said, ” Huge quantities of crude oil appeared in the village of Safat near the al-Majazah junction.”

They explained that the crude oil leakage covered the roads near their homes and surrounding farmland, as well as arrived near drinking water sources in Ghail bin Habtoor.

The witnesses pointed out that the oil spill ported a catastrophe of health and environmental pollution among citizens.

They held local authorities affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition responsible for the failure to carry out maintenance of the pipeline and reduce its effects.

This comes after tribal gunmen blew up last Wednesday a crude oil pipeline in an area in the Al-Majazah area of Habban district, south of Ataq, in protest against the deterioration of services.
