22 people killed in shooting in US state of Maine

WORLD, Oct. 26 (YPA) – At least 22 people were killed and dozens injured in a shooting attack in Leostone, Maine, US media reported late Wednesday.

Security sources told NBC on Wednesday evening that there were between 50 and 60 people injured in the incidents, but the exact number is still unclear.

Local police confirmed that the shooter was at large, demanded that all institutions close their doors, and urged residents to stay indoors.

The local police officer released a photo of the suspect, armed with an automatic rifle.

According to local media, police dealt with sporadic shootings in several places, including near a restaurant and another near the Walmart mall.
