5.3 magnitude earthquake hits Ahvaz city in Iran

SANAA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter Scale struck the city of Ahvaz in the province of Khuzestan in southwestern Iran on Sunday.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency “IRNA”, the earthquake occurred at two o’clock and 45 minutes in the afternoon, and its aftershocks were felt by the people of most areas in Ahvaz province due to its strength.

Residents from the southern Iraqi city of Basra said that residents of the city felt the aftershocks of the earthquake.
