Russian: The Middle East is on the brink of a large-scale war

WORLD, Oct. 14 (YPA) – Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation, said that the Middle East is on the brink of a full-scale war.

Vassily Nebenzia told a UN Security Council meeting on Friday that “the escalation on the ground is deeply worrying. The region is on the brink of a large-scale war and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.”

He stressed that Moscow “unequivocally condemns the extreme cruelty, murders and horrific dimensions of violence.”

Diplomatic sources said Russia distributed to UN Security Council members on Friday a draft resolution calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
