Iran, Syria affirm their positions in support of Palestinian people, resistance

DAMASCUS, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad called on Thursday for all efforts to accelerate the adoption of a unified Arab-Islamic position in defense of the oppressed Palestinian people.

This came during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Ibrahim Raisi, to discuss the latest developments in occupied Palestine.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Syrian President believed that “every hour of delay in taking a unified position by the Arab and Islamic countries means committing more Zionist crimes against the residents of the Gaza Strip.”

Al-Assad stressed that “the resistance’s victories proved that the Zionist entity is much weaker than it claimed.”

For his part, the Iranian President said, “The Al-Aqsa flood operation demonstrated the fact that it is not possible to find a regional equation without taking into account the rights of the Palestinian people.”

Raisi called for the Islamic nation and all free people in the world to take a unified position regarding the crimes of the Zionists against Palestine, and put an end to them.

He pointed out that “everyone who normalized his relationship with the Zionist entity publicly under the pretext of defending the rights of the Palestinians has been exposed,” confirming that his country “will communicate with the leaders of Islamic countries in order to take a unified position regarding the developments in Palestine.”
