Security forces impose levies on drivers of heavy transport trucks in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 07 (YPA) – Security forces imposed illegal fees on drivers of heavy transport trucks in Wadi Al-Ain area of Haora district in Hadramaot province, in a move described as provocative.

Informed sources said that traffic police officers in Wadi Al-Ain area imposed illegal fees on drivers of heavy transport trucks, explaining that they imposed 15 thousand riyals on each truck under the pretext of opening the road when any overturning of trucks occurs.

The sources explained that the levies paid by truck drivers are shared among traffic personnel without providing any service, stressing that the person causing the accident and the closure of the road bears the costs of towing the truck.
