Five bodyguards wounded in Abyan car bomb attack

ABYAN, Oct. 02 (YPA) – Five bodyguards were wounded on Monday when a car bomb went off in Abyan province, south of Yemen.

Media sources confirmed the unknown gunmen targeted a commander of the “Special Forces” loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) with in Abyan province, which led also to the destruction and burning of his car.

The explosion happened during the passage of the convoy of the leader, Fadl Baash, in Zinjibar district.

The sources did not reveal Baash’s fate, suggesting that he was injured in the attack.
