Meteorology warns residents of weather, climate variables

SANAA, Sept. 29 (YPA) – The National Meteorology Center expected, on Friday, rain of varying intensity, a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.

In its weather forecast, the center predicted that rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, to hit parts of the Tihama plain, the western coast, and parts of the governorates of Lahj, Dhale, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Hajjah, Mahweet and the Socotra archipelago.

The center expected that the weather will be hot in the deserts and interior plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between37-40 degrees Celsius, hot and humid in the coastal areas and plains, with temperature ranging between 35-38.

It also expected that active to strong winds around the Socotra archipelago, ranging in speed between 15-25 knots.

The center called on citizens not to be in valleys and torrent passages in areas where rain is expected, to take shelter from thunderstorms, and not to use mobile phones.

It also called on fishermen and seagoers to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra archipelago.
