Sanaa calls on foreign diplomatic missions to resume their work

SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sanaa government, Hisham Sharaf, on Thursday urged the international community to be open to the Yemeni people’s demands, calling on diplomatic missions of brotherly and friendly countries to resume their work in Sana’a to serve common interests.

This came in a letter he addressed to the President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Denis Francis, the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and the heads of delegations participating in this session.

The Foreign Minister pointed out that at a time when world leaders are meeting to discuss sustainable development issues, “the Republic of Yemen is still being subjected to aggression and siege by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition countries for the ninth year in a row, in flagrant violation of all international norms and conventions.”

He explained that the coalition committed severe crimes against humanity, resulting in thousands of deaths, millions of displaced people, and the worst humanitarian disaster in modern times.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs asserted Sanaa’s natural right to defend itself and its people’s interests, including restoring their legitimate rights to open Sana’a International Airport, Hodeida port, pay employees, expel occupiers from Yemeni territory, and end the aggression and siege.

He considered the intransigence of coalition countries, their lack of seriousness in peace, and their provocations pose a threat to regional and international security and navigation in the Red Sea, urging arms-producing and exporting countries to cease supplying weapons to the coalition countries, thereby putting pressure on ending the aggression.
