Socotra Archipelago witnesses active to strong winds during coming hours

SANAA, Sept. 18 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected active to strong winds sweeping the Socotra Archipelago, ranging in speed from 15 to 30 knots.

The center affirmed, in its weather forecast on Monday, that moderate to active winds also would hit on the eastern and southern coasts, the Gulf of Aden, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, ranging it speeds between 10 and 20 knots.

The center also expected rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, on the Tihama Plain, the western highlands, and parts of Lahj, Taiz, Dhamar, Dhalea, and Rayma, Mahweet, Hajjah, Saada, Abyan, Bayda, Shabwa, Hadramaut and Mahra.

It pointed out that the weather would hot in the deserts and inland plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 38-42 degrees Celsius.

The center warned citizens against being in the depths of valleys and flood paths, of rains in the Tihama Plain, the western highlands, and the central highlands of the country.
