Mahra witnesses angry popular protests against boor services, corruption

MAHRA, Sept. 13 (YPA) – The city of Al-Ghaydah in Mahra province, eastern Yemen, witnessed on Wednesday a popular protest against the deterioration of basic services and the corruption of the authorities loyal to the Saudi-led coalition.

During the protest organized by the people of Mahra in front of the government complex in the city of Al-Ghaydah, the protesters demanded the provision of services, and activating the role of the Central Organization for Control and Auditing to reduce corruption.

They raised banners demanding the normalization of services for citizens and holding the corrupt accountable.

Mahra province is witnessing a significant deterioration in basic services, most notably frequent interruptions in electricity service, especially during the summer period in light of the high temperature, as well as the rise in prices.
