MARIB, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Local authorities of the city of Marib, affiliated with the Islah Party, on Saturday, refused to release a Yemeni man who was accompanying the Omani traveler Harith Al-Sherieqi, who was released earlier.
“The Yemeni resident in the Sultanate of Oman for years, Hamza al-Odaini, is still detained in Marib despite the release of his Omani comrade Harith al-Shereiqi,” the Southern leader Adel al-Hasani said in a pot on his account.
Al-Hasani called on Islah to release al-Odaini like al-Shereiqi, noting that he has children and a family waiting for him.
He added: “Al-Odaini is an unarmed civilian, who did not commit a crime or harm anyone.”
Al-Hassani concluded his tweet by saying: “Shame on you.”
Last weekend, the Islah factions freed the Omani traveler after days of his arrest, following his arrival in the city, coming from Sanaa accompanied by a Yemeni man.
The Omani was freed through a mediation led by the ambassador in Muscat during which a ransom was paid.
