Sanaa rejects UN request to reduce aid in Yemen

SANAA, Sep. 04 (YPA) – The World Food Programme (WFP) asked the official authorities in Sanaa to sign its recent decision to reduce its assistance in Yemen.

“Al-Masirah” TV quoted private sources saying: The WFP’s insistence on the signature of official authorities was rejected because it involved suspicious agendas, including misleading the beneficiaries about who was behind the reduction in aid.

The sources noted that reducing the program’s aid comes as part of American pressure to restrict the Yemeni people and exacerbate their living suffering.

The sources explained that reducing the WPF’s aid would deprive nearly half a million families, the majority of whom were women and children suffering from malnutrition.
