WORLD, Sept. 02 (YPA) – Brazil’s statistics agency announced that the country imported Russian wheat worth $ 108.5 million during the first 7 months of this year, seizing the list of the largest suppliers of grain to Brazil.
In the first seven months of the year, Brazil imported 380,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia worth $108.5 million, while no purchases were made in the same period last year.
According to the results of the January-July period, Russia ranked for the first time among the top five grain exporters to Brazil, ranking fourth.
Argentina has been the traditional leader in grain supplies to Brazil, selling two million tonnes of grain for $736.3 million in seven months this year.
In second place was Paraguay, from which Brazil imported 886,000 tonnes of grain worth $290 million.
