Somali army kills 27 al-Shabab militants

WORLD, Aug 26 (YPA) – At least 27 al-Shabaab militants were killed in a military operation carried out by the Somalian forces, the country’s military said on Friday.

In a planned operation at Sheikhow farm, located 16 km from Awdheegle district in Lower Shabelle region, 27 Al-Shabab militants were killed. The National Army, backed by international allies, destroyed terrorist hideout, resulting in the elimination of the militants who had gathered at the farm, according to the Somali News Agency.

The operation was carried out with precision and efficiency, with the National Army and its allies successfully neutralizing the threat posed by the Al-Shabab militants. The successful operation is a testament to the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and ensure the safety and security of the region.

Late last month, the Somali army announced the killing of 100 al-Shabaab members in a military operation in an area between the central provinces of Middle Shabelle and Galgdood.

Somalia has been witnessing bloody clashes between government forces and al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab militants for years.
