ADEN, Aug. 22 (YPA) – About 8 peaceful protesters were wounded on Tuesday when the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militias opened fire to disperse protest rallies in a number of districts of Aden province, south of Yemen.
During the rallies, the STC forces fired live bullets at the peaceful demonstrators in an attempt to break up the popular protests that took place in the districts of Sheikh Othman, Khor-Maksar, Cairo area, and other streets and roads.
The angry popular demonstrations erupted in Aden, condemning the deterioration of service and living conditions and the power outages.
The participants blocked the Cairo Street, the most important entrance to the city of Aden, and closed it with stones and set tires on fire.
The southern provinces are experiencing a significant deterioration of living conditions in conjunction with a continuous collapse of the local currency against foreign currencies, amid cases of security chaos and the increase in killing, looting and plundering.
