Meteorology Center warns residents of changes in Yemen’s weather

SANAA, Aug. 19 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected on Saturday rains of varying intensity, up to heavy, sometimes accompanied by hail, in parts of the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, Amran, Mahweet, Sanaa, Dhamar, Rayma, Bayda, Dhalea, Ibb, and Taiz.

In its weather forecast for the next 24 hours, the center indicated that sporadic rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, could fall in parts of the provinces of Shabwa, Mahra, Hadramout, Marib, Jawf, Abyan, and Lahj, as well as parts of the western, southern, and eastern coasts and the Tihama plain.

The Center warned citizens against being in the valleys and crossing the torrential passages, as well as from thunderstorms and the decrease in horizontal visibility due to the fog.

It also called on fishermen and seagoers to take the necessary precautions against sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra archipelago, the southern and eastern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.
