SANAA, July 5 (YPA) – Saudi hard-liner citizens burned a Saudi woman’s car in Macca city, just a week after women were allowed to drive cars in Saudi Arabia.
Salma al-Sharif, aged 31, said her car was deliberately burnt this week by men who “oppose women driving”.
She said that she is working as an accountant near the city of Macca where her car was burnt.
“I had suffered from harassment by some of the men in the neighborhood where I live after I started driving my car,” she added.
She noted that she was spending half of her monthly salary on the driver who transported her to the workplace.
“Since the first day of driving my car, I have been verbally abused by some young men here, who are stressing their refusal to women to drive cars, she said.
