National strategy agreement to localize milk industry signed in Sanaa
SANAA, Aug. 13 (YPA) – A national strategy agreement to localize the milk and derivatives industry was signed on Sunday at the Presidency House in Sanaa, involving milk and derivatives manufacturing companies and milk-producing associations.
The agreement was signed by the President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, the Prime Minister, Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the Ministers of Finance, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, the Local Administration, Ali Al-Qaisi, the Industry and Trade, Muhammad Al-Mutahar, the Agriculture and Irrigation, Eng. Abdulmalik Al-Thawr, and officials of milk and dairy products manufacturing companies and milk-producing associations
After the signing, President Al-Mashat confirmed that the agreement aims to achieve self-sufficiency in milk and its derivatives.
He pointed out that the localization of the milk industry and its derivatives is one of the basic strategies of the state to provide many job opportunities and meet the local market’s need for this product instead of importing it from abroad.
