MAHRA, Aug. 06 (YPA) – Elements of Islah party factions broke up a protest on Sunday demanding the improvement of electricity services in the province of al-Mahra in eastern Yemen, special sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources said that Islah factions dispersed a protest demonstration denouncing the deterioration of electricity service in the city of Nashtun, and they also arrested a number of participants, including a tribal sheikh without knowing his name.
The sources confirmed that the protesters cut off the road connecting the governorates of al-Mahra and Hadramout in front of the travelers, which led to intervention of elements of “Brigade 137” factions located in the city of al-Ghaydha, the center of the province, to disperse the demonstrators by force of arms.
