Tariq Saleh sends fiery message to STC, Al-Subaiha tribes

TAIZ, Aug 01 (YPA) – Brigadier Tariq Saleh, Commander of the Republican Guards’ Brigades, sent a fiery message to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s factions and the Subaiha tribes, whose armed elements have been mobilizing for days near the Bab al-Mandab areas.

This comes after the military situation between the two sides exploded last Friday in Bab al-Mandab.

On Monday, local media reported Tariq Saleh visited Zuqar Island, overlooking Al- Subiha areas in Bab al-Mandeb. He raised the Yemeni flag from one of his military sites on the island.

Activists and media professionals saw the move taken by Tariq Saleh as an explicit challenge and a fiery message to his enemy allies in the STC’s factions and the “STC” and the Subaiha tribes.

“We are here, where are you,” Tariq Saleh said

According to the activists, Tariq Saleh’s raising of the flag of the Republic of Yemen is a clear message that his forces will work to thwart the STC’s efforts to secede if the STC factions continue to seek taking control over the most important maritime strategic ports.

The factions of “Tariq Saleh” and “STC” exchange accusations that the purpose of controlling the areas of Bab al-Mandab for the purpose of smuggling.
