Meteorology expects strong winds around Socotra archipelago

SANAA, July. 26 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected strong winds around the Socotra archipelago and the eastern coasts, with a speed ranging between 28-46 knots.

In its weather forecast, the center affirmed that active to strong winds on the southern coasts and the south of the western coast , and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, would reach its speed between 15-30 knots.

It also expected rains of varying intensity, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, in parts of the provinces of Ibb, Taiz, Seiyun, Dhalea and the heights of Abyan and Lahj, with sporadic rains falling on parts of Mahweet, Hajjah, Bayda, Shabwa, Rayma, as well as Sanaa, Saada, Hadramout, and Mahra.

It called on fishermen and sea-goers to take the necessary precautions due to the high waves and sea turbulence around the Socotra archipelago, the southern and eastern coasts, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.

The center also warned citizens against being in the water ways and valleys, in addition to the decrease in the extent of horizontal vision due to dust to the dust waves.
