Suicide attack kills 20 Somali soldiers in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, July 26 (YPA) – At least 20 Somali soldiers were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside a Somali army camp in Mogadishu on Monday, officials and witnesses said.

The attack, which occurred at the Jaalle Siyad Military Academy.

“More than 20 people died in the explosion,” Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu, a member of the Somali parliament, told AFP. “The victims are soldiers who were defending their country against terrorists,” he added.

“Investigations are still underway to determine the circumstances of the attack, which was claimed by the Al -Qaeda -linked Al-Shabaab group,” he said.

It is worth noting that several areas in Somalia have been witnessing terrorist operations in light of the spread of groups of the “al-Shabaab”, which caused hundreds of victims.
