Sanaa plans mass rally tomorrow to condemn burning of Quran copies

SANAA, July 23 (YPA) – The Organizing Committee for rallies in Sanaa called on Sunday for a mass exit tomorrow afternoon, Monday, in anger and condemnation of the crime of burning the copy of the Holy Quran.

The committee identified Bab al-Yemen Square in the capital, Sanaa, as a place for a mass rally to condemn the crime of burning the Holy Quran copy and insulting it by Sweden and Denmark.

On Friday, a Danish far-right anti-Islam group burned a copy of the Noble Quran in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.

Last Thursday, the extremist Sloan Momica tore up a copy of the Quran in Stockholm, the second incident involving the same person after the first in late June, after the Swedish authorities allowed him to target Islamic sanctities.

These crimes were condemned and denounced by several countries, which prompted the Swedish government to back down and condemn the burning of a copy of the Noble Quran, describing it as an “anti-Islamic act.”
