Insan Organization condemns UAE-backed militia crime in Abyan

SANAA, July 19 (YPA) – Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms strongly condemned the crime of torture suffered by the Yemeni citizen, Mohammed Hassan, by UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia in Abyan Governorate.

It called on humanitarian organizations, United Nations bodies and the Human Rights Council to take serious actions to stop the series of criminal killings against innocent Yemenis, and work to protect human rights in Yemen.

The organization called on the leadership of the STC, the security and judicial agencies in the southern governorates to assume full responsibility for this crime, and to hand over the perpetrators to justice.

To uncover crimes committed by armed militia affiliated with the STC, the organization called for the formation of an independent investigative committee to investigate all crimes that have been committed and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
