SOCOTRA, July. 18 (YPA) – The people of the Yemeni island of Socotra have complained about the high price of cooking gas and its lack in the markets of the archipelago, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Sources familiar with the matter confirmed that the cooking gas prices are witnessing a continuous rise, during which the price of one cylinder reached 30,000 Yemeni riyals, in conjunction with the scarcity of the gas supply in the archipelago.
According to the sources, the people of Socotra complained of their inability to provide the simplest basic necessities of life, such as cooking gas and lighting, since the UAE took control of it in mid-2020, the province has witnessed multiple crises in various aspects of life.
