Meteorology expects rains to hit several provinces in next 24 hours

SANAA, July 07 (YPA) – The National Meteorology Center expected on Friday hot to very hot weather in deserts and coastal areas in addition to rains of varying intensity accompanied by thunderstorms in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.

In its weather forecast, the center expected hot to very hot dry weather during the day in the deserts and interior plateaus, with maximum temperatures ranging between 40-45 degrees Celsius.

The weather may be hot and humid in the coastal areas and the Socotra archipelago, where the maximum temperatures range between 34-40 degrees Celsius, the center said.

According to the center, rains may hit parts of the governorates of Ibb, Dhalea, and the heights of Lahj and Abyan, while light to medium rain expected to hit parts of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Hajjah, west of Sanaa, Dhamar and Raymah.

The center warned citizens of hot and very hot weather in deserts, interior plateaus, coastal areas and the Socotra archipelago, and advised them not to be directly exposed to the blazing sun during the day.

It  called on citizens not to be in valleys and torrent passages in areas where rain is expected, to take shelter from thunderstorms, and not to use mobile phones.
