SANAA, June 26 (YPA) – The Yemeni riyal exchange rate recorded on Monday a new low against foreign currencies in the southern provinces controlled by the Saudi-led coalition.
The US dollar price reached 1,384 riyals in Aden and Hadramout provinces, while the Saudi riyal reached 366 riyals, as a result of the pro-coalition government’s failure to manage the economic file.
This comes days after the Central Bank of Aden declared the halt of the weekly auction process for selling dollar reserves, which was supposed to take place last Tuesday, until after the Eid al-Adha holiday that may last 17 days.
In the capital, Sanaa, and the other areas controlled by the National Salvation Government, the US dollar exchange rate remained stable at 530 riyals, and the Saudi riyal remained flat at 142 riyals.
