Protest rally held in Hadramout against deteriorating essential services

HADRAMOUT, June 15 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens in the oil-rich province of Hadramout carried out a protest in the city of Mukalla, the provincial capital of Hadramout, calling for saving them from starvation.

In a protest rally, held in front of the headquarters of the local authority in the province, the protesters raised banners calling for the overthrow of the head of the pro-coalition, Maeen Abdel-Malik, accusing him of creating crises.

They emphasized that the people of Hadramout getting subject to systematic torture as a result of deteriorating in electricity and water services, accusing the “coalition of doubling the suffering of the Yemeni people by supporting the corrupt.

The participants explained that the “hunger and poverty afflict the people of Hadramout, in addition to oppression and injustice together, hinting at an escalation in the coming days.

They renewed their demand to know where the revenues from oil exports, raw gold and fisheries abound in the province go, stressing the continuation of the protest activities and escalation until achieving their just demands.

The rally called for their involvement in the decision-making, employing their capabilities at work and fighting corruption, in addition to obtaining Hadramout on its sovereignty in the decision-making, away from tutelage and subordination.
