Sanaa documents violations of Saudi regime against Yemeni expatriates

SANAA, June 13 (YPA) – The Deputy Minister of Expatriate Affairs in the Sanaa government, Zayed Al-Riyami, said on Tuesday that the ministry is documenting the Saudi regime’s violations against Yemeni expatriates in order to submit them to international courts.

The official “Saba News Agency” quoted Al-Riyami as saying: “The number of Yemenis abroad reaches 14,200,000 expatriates and immigrants in various countries of the world.”

He pointed out that the ministry has been registering the data of Yemeni citizens wanting to go to countries of expatriation for two years in order to provide a correct database to facilitate follow-up on their situations and issues around the world.

Al-Riyami stated that, according to the agreement with the United Nations Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, William David Gressly, nearly 5,000 of the total stranded Yemenis have been evacuated from the city of Port Sudan since the start of the recent events in Sudan.

He mentioned that there are about 27,000 Yemeni expatriates in Sudan.
