Pro-Saudi “First Military Region” forces carry out military deployments in Mahra, Hadramout
MAHRA, June 12 (YPA) – The forces of the so-called “First Military Region”, affiliated with the Islah Party loyal to Saudi Arabia, carried out on Monday a large military deployment in Mahra and Hadramout provinces, eastern Yemen.
This came before the Saudi-funded “Hadrami” factions announced that the two provinces would be named a dependent region.
Media outlets quoted the first military region, stationed in the valley and desert districts of Hadramout, as saying in a statement that it had completed a deployment campaign that it started last Saturday in the provinces of Mahra and Hadramout.
The deployment process included the road linking Shihen district in Mahra with Romah district and the 315th Brigade sector in Thamud district in Hadramout desert.
The first military region, for which the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council is demanding its exit from Hadramout, justified the new campaign to secure the international line linking Hadramout to the eastern border with the Sultanate of Oman.
