Restriction of flights to/from Sanaa airport to single destination exacerbates suffering of Yemenis: Official

SANAA, June 08 (YPA) – The Undersecretary of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority (CAMA), Raed Jabal, said on Thursday that the Saudi-led coalition’s continued restriction of flights to and from Sanaa International Airport to one destination compounds the suffering of Yemenis.

Jabal renewed, in a statement to the media, the demands of the Sanaa government to open all destinations to and from Sanaa Airport as a humanitarian entitlement, adding that the coalition’s permission for three additional flights to Jordan is a step that does not meet the minimum actual need for flights.

He explained that keeping the flights to one destination doubles the costs for citizens wishing to travel to destinations other than Oman.

Jabal concluded his statement by emphasizing the need to completely lift the blockade on Sanaa airport, as this is an entitlement of the Yemeni people.
