Fighting escalates in Khartoum as ceasefire expires

KHARTOUM, June 05 (YPA) – Fighting intensified in several areas of  the capital city of Khartoum on Sunday, the day after a ceasefire between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) expired, according to local residents

the truce ended amid breakdown of bilateral talks in Jeddah, where Saudi Arabia and the United States have been mediating negotiations between the warring factions.

The ceasefire started on May 22 and expired on Saturday evening
