One dead, two missing in Japan due to heavy rain

WORRLD, June 03 (YPA) – One person was killed and two others went missing as a result of heavy rains that hit across Japan, officials said.

Authorities issued evacuation warnings to hundreds of thousands of residents on Friday.

Japanese authorities called for extreme caution “in the face of the risk of landslides, flash floods and river flooding” from Tropical Storm Mawar, which was classified as a typhoon.
