American drone hits training camp of Al-Qaeda in Shabwa

ABYAN, May 31 (YPA) – An explosion rocked overnight on Tuesday in the Jishan area, northwest of the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa province, which is controlled by UAE-backed factions.

According to local sources, the explosion occurred following the flyover of an American drone over the area.

The sources stated that the explosion took place in an area empty of residents, implying that the strike targeted a training camp for Al-Qaeda operatives stationed in a number of districts in Abyan and Shabwa controlled by the Saudi-led coalition.

After being ejected by Sanaa troops from the districts of Bayda province during large-scale military operations that lasted from August to September 2022, Al-Qaeda terrorist groups were stationed in a number of districts in Abyan, Shabwa, and Lahj provinces.
