Pro-UAE factions detain journalist in Hadramout
HADRAMOUT, May 24 (YPA) – A journalist was detained in Hadramout province in eastern Yemen, which is controlled by UAE-backed factions.
According to human rights sources, the pro-coalition journalist Abdullah Ba Munif was taken yesterday, Tuesday, to ‘Seif’ area police prison in Do’an district, north of the city of Mukalla, the center of the province.
The sources explained that the arrest of Ba Munif was linked to a social media post he made that did not offend any party, stating that he was released after four hours of custody.
The repression of journalists and media professionals has expanded in the areas under the control of the coalition to silence those voices who criticize the tragic conditions in the southern provinces.
