SHABWA, April 29 (YPA) – The UAE-backed militia factions were on alert on Saturday in Ataq city, the capital of Shabwa province, in eastern Yemen, local sources said.
According to the sources, factions of the UAE-affiliated “Shabwa Defense” militia have intensified their deployment at the entrances to Ataq, in anticipation of any armed movements launched by elements loyal to Islah Party in the areas of Baihan and Usilan.
The sources confirmed that the pro-UAE militia reinforced its elements located west of Ataq with a number of Emirati armored vehicles, for fear of the advance of Islah militants.
This comes after the killing of the leader affiliated with the Islah Party, the director of the health office in Beihan, and the preacher of the Eid prayer, Abdullah Al-Bani, after performing the Eid Al-Fitr prayer by the “Shabwa Defense” militia.
