ADEN, April 21 (YPA) – Meat prices in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the coalition militia, reached record levels during the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
Local media outlets affiliated with the coalition stated that the price of a kilo of meat in the city has exceeded 15,000 riyals, amid the absence of state authorities since the second half of 2015.
The sources attributed the rise in meat prices in Aden and the rest of the southern provinces to the economic deterioration and the collapse of the Yemeni riyal there against foreign currencies.
The sources indicated that the absence of control over meat sellers contributed to a sudden increase in prices of about 4 thousand riyals during the past two days.
Aden city has suffered from a deterioration in various basic services such electricity and health, as well as security chaos, and the high prices of basic foodstuffs.
