Positions ignite conflict between UAE-backed leaders

LAHJ, April 08 (YPA) – A serious conflict hit the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s leaders over the leadership of the “Fifth Brigade”, and the security of Lahj, one day after the death of “Saleh Al-Sayed Al-Yafei”, in mysterious circumstances at dawn on Thursday, informed sources revealed.

According to the sources, the conflict that erupted between the leaders of Dhalea and Yafei has reached a dead end, indicating that each party seeks to impose a personality to lead the brigade and manage the security of Lahj.

The sources confirmed that Jalal al-Rabaie, the commander of the so-called “Security Belt” in Aden, is the strongest candidate for the brigade command and security of Lahj.

Moreover, the sources pointed out that the leaders of “Dhalea Faction” pushed the extremist leader Mohsen al-Wali, who was appointed by the UAE as commander of the so-called “security belts” to replace Saleh al-Sayed al-Yafei.

This comes a day after the death of the leader of the UAE-affiliated STC militia, Saleh Al-Sayed Al-Yafei, who was accused of committing dozens of assassinations and seizing citizens’ lands, under mysterious circumstances.
