Military confrontations renew between Sanaa, UAE-backed forces in Taiz

TAIZ, March 27 (YPA) – Military confrontations renewed on Monday between Sana’a forces and UAE-backed armed elements in the areas separating the provinces of Taiz and Lahj in southern Yemen.

This comes days after the UAE-affiliated armed groups failed in their recent military operations in Taiz and Marib tribal fronts.

Local sources in the province of Lahj told “Yemeni Press Agency” that intermittent confrontations and mutual artillery shelling renewed between the two parties in the areas separating Haifan district in Taiz and Tur Al-Baha in Lahj.

The sources pointed out that the artillery of the “Fourth Brigade Hazm” supported by the UAE shelled from its positions in al-Karb and al-Dhabab areas in Tur Al-Baha, the positions of Sana’a forces along the line of contact towards Haifan district, after minutes of the failure of an infiltration attempt for its soldiers.

The sources confirmed that the confrontations resulted in casualties on both sides.
