Interior Ministry declares 288,866 sabotage operations thwarted in Sanaa
SANAA, March 22 (YPA) – Ministry of Interior in Sanaa announced its security forces has thwarted about 288,866 criminal operations for the past eight years.
The ministry said in a news statement that 1,310 criminal cells planed by the Saudi-led coalition to carry out sabotage and assassination plots, were thwarted in the capital Sanaa and the other provinces, which are under Sanaa control.
The statement pointed to the failure of 347 suicide attacks by takfiri elements targeting citizens in public places, and the seizure and dismantling of 3,207 devices and explosives prepared by members of the coalition to target the lives of citizens in roads and public places.
It indicated that 1,023 members of the takfiri groups were seized, 24,965 of them were recruited by the coalition to carry out sabotage operations targeting security and stability, in addition to the arrest of 2,094 others to carry out monitoring and targeting operations.
In the field of drug and alcohol control, the ministry, since the beginning of the war on Yemen, has carried out 12,634 operations to seize hundreds of tons of narcotic hashish and quantities of other drugs and alcohol, all of which were coming from areas controlled by the coalition forces and their tools.
According to the statement, 194,039 serious crimes and 982 forgery crimes were seized, in addition to 16,854 stolen goods and 461 highway robberies.
The statement pointed out that the number of organized criminal gangs that seized since amounted to 587 gangs, whose activities varied between theft and burglary, theft under duress, forgery, and other crimes.
Additionally, the security services worked to combat the smuggling and entry of spoiled and expired foodstuffs and medicines to in several provinces, as they carried out 288 operations to seize medicines and 458 others to seize the expired foodstuffs, in addition to thwarting 25,492 smuggling operations of various goods and seizing 4,497 customs violations.
For eight years of steadfastness, the various units of the ministry carried out 23,337 tasks to secure popular and official gatherings, as well as activities and events.
In the field of evaluating security work, the Inspector General and Complaints Center received 33,138 complaints, of which 31,463 were achieved, at a rate of 99 percent, and 1,369 complaints were malicious.
The statement reaffirmed that the security services will remain the faithful guardian of the security and stability of the Yemeni people, expressing thanks to all citizens for their great cooperation with the security men in the consolidation and strengthening of security and stability.
